On Friday, April 26, 2019, a representative of the U.S. Census Bureau, in partnership with LUPE Fund Inc., Tu Apoyo Latino, Organización Juventud Ecuatoriana, and the Consulate of Ecuador, will be discussing upcoming challenges and opportunities for the 2020 Census.This important discussion will highlight the below:

-The importance of the Census and why it is conducted;

-The importance of an accurate Census count and how it impacts the fiscal and overall vitality of the Latinx community;

-Available job opportunities for the 2020 Census efforts and/or volunteer opportunities;

-Challenges facing the 2020 Census

-Major steps in implementing the Census.

El Viernes 26 de Abril de 2019, un representante de la Oficina del Censo de los EE. UU, en asociación con LUPE Fund Inc., Tu Apoyo Latino, Organización Juventud Ecuatoriana, y El consulado de Ecuador, hablará sobre los próximos desafíos y oportunidades para el Censo del 2020 en nuestra comunidad.

Los puntos a tratarse hablaran sobre:

-La importancia del Censo y porque se realiza;

-La importancia de un recuento preciso del Censo y su impacto en la vitalidad fiscal y general de la comunidad Latina/ LatinX;

-Las oportunidades de trabajo y voluntariado disponibles para la realización del 2020 CENSUS;-Las dificultades que enfrenta el Censo;

-Los pasos principales en la implementación del Censo.

The Census Bureau's mission is to serve as the nation’s leading provider of quality data about its people and economy.

The Ecuadorian Consulate's mission is to protect the rights and interests Ecuadorians, whether they are naturalized citizens or not; plan and provide quality consular services and promote the political and associative participation of the Ecuadorian population abroad, subject to treaties, conventions, domestic law and international law, in accordance with the goals established in the national development plans.

LUPE Fund, Inc. is a 501c3 organization whose mission is to Educate, Empower, and Engage Latinas to Promote Leadership and Civic Engagement. Our goals are to promote an increase of Latinas in civic leadership locally and statewide and to collaborate with other women’s and children’s organizations on issues of common interest such as health and education in order to advance the Latino community. We provide educational programs, networking opportunities and mentorship to place more Latinas in the leadership pipeline.

Tu Apoyo Latino creates, promotes and hosts educational, social, cultural and sporting events that brings resources to the community.

Organización Juventud Ecuatoriana (JUVE), is a nonprofit organization established in 2006 as a 501(c)(3) organization based in New York City founded by young Ecuadorians residing in the US. JUVE empowers the Ecuadorian and Hispanic community by providing seminars, workshops, and forums in education, leadership, financial management, human and civil rights, and other valuable areas to succeed in this society. JUVE promotes Ecuadorian heritage and culture through various projects & initiatives. Through the Ecuadorian Scholars Fund, JUVE supports and motivates Ecuadorians to obtain a college degree, and thus develop as professionals.
