LUPE Fund, Inc. Announces New Executive Board Members

(Elizabeth, NJ) LUPE Fund, Inc. is pleased to announce the election of its Executive Committee for 2019. Sara Peña will continue as LUPE Fund’s President and Milagros Peralta is the new Vice-President. Diana Calle is the new Treasurer, Marelyn Rivera is the new Recording Secretary and Deanna-Marie Crespo-Norcross will continue as Corresponding Secretary.

A member-driven organization, the LUPE Fund currently consists of twelve board members. Board members include Alixon Collazos, Maria Del Cid-Kosso, Dr. Yolanda Mendez, Iveth Mosquera, Emy Quispe, Blanca Rosales-Ahn and Connie Sanchez. The Board of Directors volunteer their time and areas of expertise to ensure the success of the organization and are deeply passionate about LUPE Fund’s commitment to serving as the pipeline for the next generation of women leaders.

LUPE Fund has served as a leadership organization specifically aimed to educate and empower Latinas for approximately sixteen years. LUPE Fund takes pride in providing premier political training programs designed to encourage more women to run for office and get elected in New Jersey. In addition, LUPE Fund established the annual Young Latina Leadership Scholarship, which is awarded to distinguished Latina college students in New Jersey who have maintained academic excellence and exemplify leadership within their communities.

LUPE Fund is a non-profit 501c3 organization whose mission is to Educate, Empower and Engage Latinas to promote leadership and civic engagement. The goal of LUPE Fund is to promote an increase of Latinas in civic leadership by providing scholarships, educational programs, mentorship, and networking opportunities at a local and statewide level. The organization is committed to collaborating with other women’s and children’s organizations on issues of common interest such as education, health and economic development in an effort to advance the Latino community.
